There are many techniques available for the doctor to use under their discretion. Which techniques are determined by the doctor based on efficacy, patient preference and safety. Treatment sessions can last between 5 minutes to 20 minutes.
Feet are the foundation of the body—foot imbalance or dysfunction can have ripple effects, transferring imbalance (and pain) to the ankles, legs, knees, hips, spine, shoulders, even the skull. Foot Levelers orthotics are custom-built to balance and support your unique feet and body, and to suit the demands of your individual lifestyle and activities. By balancing and supporting the feet, they help balance and support the spine, which can help relieve pain and improve your body’s overall biomechanics. Foot Levelers custom orthotics are a research-proven solution for plantar fasciitis, low back pain, ankle sprains/ankle instability, knee pain, and many other musculoskeletal conditions.
Two pairs of electrode pads are placed on the skin and a specialized electrical current is run from each pair to activate the pain gate mechanisms providing temporary relief of pain and muscle spasming. Graston Technique® (GT) is a unique, evidence-based form of instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization that enables clinicians to effectively and efficiently address soft tissue lesions and fascial restrictions resulting in improved patient outcomes. GT uses specially designed stainless steel instruments with unique treatment edges and angles to deliver an effective means of manual therapy. The use of GT instruments, when combined with appropriate therapeutic exercise, leads to the restoration of pain-free movement and function. The instruments also are used diagnostically to assess the kinetic chain, in an efficient manner using the principles of regional interdependence. This treatment lasts between 5-10 minutes per focused area.
Kinesiotape application is used to assist in the healing process of sprain/strain injuries, postural correction and in retraining of functional movement chains. It works is by elevating the subcutaneous space and increasing the blood circulation and lymph fluid drainage to reduce the chemical factors around the region, thus reducing the healing time. Therefore, it is suggested that Kinesiotape method can be used as a regular treatment or added to a treatment plan for for myofascial pain. This treatment takes 5 minutes per area.
